Creating a New Extended Property Definition

Perform the following steps to create a new Extended Property Definition.

Extended properties cannot be changed. If you want to make changes to an extended property, you will have to delete and re-create it. In order to do so, you will have to first remove any associations of the extended property in the Item Class tree. Refer to the Deleting an Extended Property topic for more information.

1. Navigate to the Extended Property Listing page by selecting Store Management>Extended Properties. The Extended Property Listing page appears.

2. Click the New button. The Extended Property Definition page opens.

3. Select the Business Object for which you want to create an extended property in the Object drop-down menu.
4. Enter a unique identifier for the property in the Property ID field.
5. Enter a description for the property in the Property Description field.
6. Select an extended property type from the Type drop-down menu.
7. If you have selected the "String" option in the type field, enter a maximum character length for the sting in the Length field.
8. Select the Supports Multiple values checkbox if you want your Extended Property to support multiple values.
9. Click Save to save your changes.
